The exchange students has arrived!

In january, the spring semester starts - which means NLA’s new exchange students have arrived our campuses in Begen and Kristiansand. Take a look at what they have been doing their first month at NLA.

Arrival in Bergen

We had our first orientation days at Campus Breistein for our students taking the course Pedagogical Leadership in Early Childhood Education (link Pedagogical leadership in Early Childhood Education - NLA). We started off norwegian style: waffles, brunost, jam and coffee. We spent some time getting to know each other and had a tour around the Campus Breistein. The next day we had lunch together in Bergen City where the students got to see Bergen at it’s best, windy and rainy! We finished the day with a city tour around Bergen.

Arrival in Kristiansand

After Orientation Days at campus Gimlekollen first week of arrival, our international students from Ethiopia, Uganda, Armenia, Azerbajan and Georgia started their second week in Norway with an intense intoduction-week to their Global Journalist studies (Master in Global Journalism - NLA) and the wider student fellowship of international students at campus. All international students were challengenged to participate at the International Day (NLA i Verden International week event) the following Tuesday, where they were happy to introduce their culture, provide a cultural or culiminary taste from their region, before going on a fieldtrip to Denmark on Thursday.

Hike to Blåmanen

During the third week, our Bergen students did a hike together with other international students at NLA to the beautiful top Blåmanen. The hike started up the trail to Fløyen, then continued all the way up to Blåmanen, with the best views of Bergen. The weather was fantastic, windless and sunny all day- At the top, Isabell served the students hot chocolate, pastries, mandarins and kvikk lunsj – we even got the sunset at Fløyen on our way back. At blessed day in Bergen!
