Journalism Study Trip to Kenya

This study trip is offered to students at the Bachelor Program in Journalism, connected to the course 3JO210A-E Global Journalism Study trip. The course is organized with lectures and seminars at NLA University College in Kristiansand, combined with a study trip of approximately two weeks to Kenya.

The focus is on how globalization influences journalism both in Norway and in other parts of the world, and on the extent to which journalistic values can be said to be universal or tied to a specific society.

During the study trip, there will be teaching sessions, excursions, and meeting with local experts and facilitators, and you will be given assignments to complete. Over the 14 days, you will gain valuable academic and personal experiences.

Accommodation

You will stay at the Scripture Mission Conference Centre, with rooms shared by 2–4 students.

Other information

The study trip requires students to be in generally good physical health. The number of places on the trip is limited, and a minimum number of participants is required for it to be carried out. If the trip is cancelled due to to an insufficient number of participants, the registration fee will be refunded.
