Semester Programme in English

NLA University College offers a semester programme in English at campus Staffeldtsgate in Oslo, Norway. The programme is offered in the autumn semester which starts mid August and ends mid December.

About the semester programme

The semester programme consists of two courses on bachelor level and you will study together with NLA’s full-degree students. The course covers a wide range of topics in English literature, culture and language, with a focus on didactic methods relevant to teaching English as a second language in schools. The course also develops students’ creative, analytic, written and oral skills in English.

Teaching will mainly be delivered in full-day seminars on campus, supplemented by online sessions.

Information for international students

Admission requirements

A general University Admission Certification is required for admission to the semester programme. The program is mainly aimed at students from NLA’s partner institutions. The students can be majoring in English, Education, Intercultural Studies, or similar subjects.

The language of instruction is English. Students are expected to have oral and written proficiency in English sufficient to follow a university/college level teaching programme.
