Prior learning recognition

Relevant work experience includes working in kindergartens, after-school programs, as a nanny, assistant in primary school, or similar. Relevant education is child and youth work. Applicants must document at least two years of upper secondary school.

Applicants with very long experience working in kindergartens may be granted exemptions from all or part of the upper secondary school requirement.

Applicants must document at least two years of upper secondary school, in addition to two years of relevant practice. Relevant practice is work in after-school programs, assistant in the school or equivalent. There are requirements for Norwegian, English and mathematics equivalent to the requirements in general university admissions certification.

Practice and education from work within a multicultural/cross-cultural context from public or private business or organizational work.

Practice and education from work in the economic-administrative field from public or private business or organizational work.
There are requirements for mathematics and English corresponding to the requirements in general university admissions certification.
For the one-year program in sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation, there is a requirement for English corresponding to the requirement in general university admissions certification.

Practice and education from work within Christian work within public or private business or organizational work.
Relevant education is Bible school or similar courses.

Practice and education from work related to media studies/journalism.
Social studies corresponding to the requirement in general university admissions certification is required.

Practice and education that includes Christian preaching, pastoral care and/or communication. Relevant education is Bible school or similar courses.
Knowledge of Christianity/religion/philosophy of life corresponding to the requirements in general university admissions certification is required.

Relevant experience from work within music in public or private business or organizational work.
Relevant education is folk high school with music or parts of upper secondary school with music.

Your application is assessed against the program you have applied for. We not only take upper secondary school into consideration, but also other schools, work experience, voluntary work, courses, and so on.

If you do not have general university admissions certification, and you turn 25 years or more in the year of admission, you can apply. But you must document at least five years of education and experience to be considered.

The deadline to apply based on prior learning may be before the regular application deadline.
Otherwise, apply as usual, but you must tick the box for prior learning in your application.
