Prior learning recognition
If you lack general university admissions certification, and you turn 25 years or more this year, you can apply for admission on the basis of prior learning and work experience.

Admission to higher education
If you lack general university admissions certification, and you turn 25 years or more during the year of admission, you can apply for admission on the basis of prior learning. This is regulated by Regulations concerning Admission to Higher Education § 3-1. If you apply on this basis, your application will be assessed for each individual course of study you apply for. You may therefore receive a different answer if you apply for a different course of study, at a different educational institution, or in a different admission.
General criteria for application based on prior learning at NLA University College
- Applicants must have at least 5 years of work and/or education. At least 2 of the years must be relevant to the study program for which admission is sought. Part-time work is converted to full-time.
- Applicants must have sufficient skills in Norwegian and English to complete the study program. Applicants from countries outside the Nordic region must meet the Norwegian language requirements for general university admissions certification. See information about this on the website of Samordna opptak.
