Application and Admission

You must be qualified to be offered admission. You must have general university admissions certification, and some studies have other requirements in addition. You can find the admission requirements in the study plan, and for single-subject courses, you can find prerequisite knowledge in the course plan.

To be eligible for admission to a study program, you must have general university admissions certification. Most applicants meet the requirement with education from upper secondary school. Read more about general university admissions certification on the website of

If we do not have enough study places for all qualified applicants, the applicants must be assigned points and ranked.

If you turn 25 or older in the year of admission, and lack general university admissions certification, you can apply for admission on the basis of prior learning. You must then have relevant education and practice that can compensate for the fact that you do not meet the usual admission requirements.

You must document that you meet the admission requirements. You must also upload documentation if you are entitled to additional points. You must upload the documentation in your application. You must not send documentation by email. Samordna opptak has many examples of valid documentation.
