Account and access

Feide is the login solution used at NLA University College and most educational institutions in Norway.

• You use your Feide account to log in to most of the systems you use as a student at NLA University College.
• See the pages Network and software and Tools in everyday study to find out which services you have access to.

Your Feide user:

• Username: studentnumber@nla.no
• Password: personal password set by you

The Feide account is personal and should not be shared with others.

Password changes and security settings (such as MFA) automatically apply to all services that use Feide.

Before you can log in to the school's systems, you must activate your Feide account.

Do the following:

1. Go to nla.no/settpassord
2. Log in with ID-porten (BankID, MinID or similar).
3. Set your own password for Feide.

(Wait a couple of minutes after activation before the account is active)

After activation, you can log in with the following:
Username: studentnumber@nla.no
Password: Personal password set at eFeide
(Upon first login, you must set up two-factor authentication. See the MFA field further down the page)

Important: Remember to select "NLA Høgskolen" as affiliation. (Not Bergen municipality etc.)

You can easily and quickly change the password for your Feide account via the link here:

(Wait a couple of minutes after changing before the new password is active)

Are you unable to log in via ID-porten?

1. Go to eFeide.
2. Select NLA Høgskolen in the list of organizations
3. Select "SMS"
4. Enter your student number and mobile number
5. A temporary password will be sent to your phone.
6. We recommend that you change this password as soon as possible from the same portal, or via this link eFeide.

Students with foreign phone numbers:
Contact the IT department at IThjelp@nla.no for help creating a new password.

Two-factor authentication protects your account from unauthorized access and helps to secure it.

To set up MFA for the first time, do the following:

1. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.
2. Go to aka.ms/mfasetup
3. Log in with Feide user (studentnumber@nla.no)
4. Follow the steps that appear on the screen.

Switched or lost your phone?

• Do you still have access to the old phone?
  Go to aka.ms/mfasetup, remove the old device, and add the new one.
• Do you not have access to the old phone?
  Contact the IT department at IThjelp@nla.no to restore your access.

Don't have a smartphone?
Contact the IT department at IThjelp@nla.no, and we will help you set up two-factor authentication via SMS.

If you are outside Norway, Feide login and some other services may stop working.
This happens because your connection is not recognized as Norwegian.

To solve this, you must use a VPN.
NLA University College offers EduVPN free for students and staff.

When you are connected to EduVPN, the services work as if you are on campus.
