AI and Christian Imagination: Reflections on the Consequences of Generative AI for Christian Film Production
As with any major technological paradigm shift, the AI revolution catalyzes anxieties and brings about "creative destruction," while simultaneously offering novel and exciting opportunities. This paper offers some reflections on the transformations currently unfolding within video and film production, with particular attention to Christian media. However, even with this delimitation, the field remains vast. The focus will therefore be on two significant subthemes. The first is the democratization of film and video production. The second is the rise of agentic world models. The main question of this paper is what opportunities and difficulties these two developments indicate for Christian film and video production.
