Erasmus+ Traineeship Abroad

• Students taking a bachelor's or master's degree at NLA
• You must have been registered as a student for at least one year and have passed 60 credits before the start of the stay
• You must be semester registered and pay the regular semester fee to NLA while you are in practice

• Minimum length for internships is two months (60 days), but you can do an internship for up to 12 months.
• You can receive support from NLA for a maximum of 4 months.
• You can combine internships and study abroad stays up to a total of 12 months per study level.

• You will receive an Erasmus+ grant to help cover extra expenses when living abroad. You can receive support from NLA for a maximum of 4 months.
• The amount varies depending on which country you are traveling to (more expensive countries provide higher support). If you are traveling to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, or Luxembourg, you will receive EUR 680 per month. In the other Erasmus+ program countries, the grant is EUR 620 per month.

The Erasmus+ program requires that students who go on internships abroad have the necessary health insurance, accident insurance and liability insurance. The insurance can be arranged either through the company or organization where the internship will take place, or by the student taking out their own insurance.

Find a current company, organization, or institution and contact them to explore internship opportunities.

You must clarify the following:

• Time period: When the internship will take place and how long it will last

• Contact person: Who will be your supervisor or contact person during the internship

• Tasks: What tasks and responsibilities you will have

• Working hours: That the internship constitutes approximately 37.5 hours per week

All those who are going on Erasmus+ work placement abroad must complete the following forms and submit them by the application deadline

• Contract for study abroad is completed in nettskjema
• Training Agreement which you and the employer (at the host institution) have signed

Processing of applications
Applications are processed after the application deadline. If you have previously received an Erasmus grant, this may affect your chances of receiving a grant again.

Prioritization upon allocation
Students who are going on a work placement as part of a course at NLA University College, and who receive study points for the work placement, will be prioritized when allocating funds.

Work placement outside Europe
Students who want a work placement outside Europe can also apply for a grant. If there are not enough funds to cover all applications, applications for work placements within Europe will be prioritized.

You will receive an email with the Grant Agreement once your application has been processed and approved.

The Grant Agreement must be completed and signed by the student within one week of receipt.

To receive the Erasmus+ grant, your employer must first sign the Confirmation of Arrival. This form should then be sent to international@nla.no. Once this has been received, 80% of the grant will be paid out.

On the last day of the internship, your employer must sign the Confirmation of Stay, which confirms that you have been present for the entire period. This form should also be sent to international@nla.no.

In addition, you will receive an email from Erasmus+ with a link to a final report that must be completed.

Only when the final report has been submitted and the forms have been received will the remaining 20% of the grant be paid out.
