Especially teaching quality and forms of assessment receive high scores, which testifies to solid academic follow-up and a good learning environment.

Stable and positive results

The overall student satisfaction at NLA is 3.9 out of 5 – close to the national average. Compared to last year, the survey shows a positive development, especially in the academic and social learning environment, which has increased by 0.4 points.

The teaching receives a score of 3.8, with particularly good feedback on content and academic relevance. The forms of assessment are rated at 4.0, which shows that exams and assignments are experienced as academically developing. The increased satisfaction with the learning environment indicates a strong community among the students.

Studies with extra satisfied students

Several subject areas stand out with particularly good feedback:

  • Music students give very high scores on teaching and forms of assessment.
  • Pedagogy and teacher education receive strong feedback on teaching quality.
  • Journalism students value close follow-up from academic staff.

Opportunities for further development

Although NLA scores well on teaching quality and forms of assessment, the survey also points to areas for improvement. Connection to working life receives a score of 3.1, which indicates a need to strengthen internship opportunities and collaboration with the business community. In addition, NLA is below the national average on physical learning environment and infrastructure, which provides a basis for further development.

– In several key areas, we see strong results for NLA, and our students value the teaching quality and the academic community. At the same time, there is a clear need to continue working on several other areas, not least to make work life relevance visible and strengthen the internship offers. We also hope that the recent campus development will have a positive effect on students' satisfaction with the physical learning environment and infrastructure, says Sigbjørn Sødal, rector
