C.P. Caspari and the Debate against Grundtvigianism regarding the Church's Foundation

This paper examines how C.P. Caspari became a central figure in the nineteenth-century debate over the church’s foundation and authority, particularly in response to N.F.S. Grundtvig and the rise of Grundtvigianism in Norway. It argues that Caspari’s efforts not only defended the Lutheran principle of sola scriptura but also helped to lay the foundations for modern creedal scholarship.
