ELYSIUM - a visual concert
The visual concert ELYSIUM is developed within the broader ELYSIUM artistic research project. It constitutes a cross-aesthetic performance combining live music with video scenography, film, and visual design.
The project is initiated and led by Hanne Vatnøy (HAVA), who serves as principal investigator and artistic director. It is structured as a collaborative platform with contributions from invited artists across disciplines. It explores how visual elements influence audience perception of music through a practice-based methodology that integrates live performance and qualitative methods, including focus group interviews.
Developed during a seed funding period supported by UH-nett Vest, the project contributes to artistic research on accessible and innovative concert formats and audience experience. The visual concert specifically represents a collaboration between Vatnøy (NLA) and designer Torkell Bernsen (UiB), who contributes with video scenography, art film, and graphic elements.
