Evangeliet til nye generasjoner. Barn, unge og yngre ledere som misjonale tema i Lausanne.
This article explores children, youth and younger leaders as missional themes in the Lausanne movement. It is based on a textual analysis of literary and digital sources from Lausanne. The focus on younger leaders has been characteristic for the global movement since the beginning. Lausanne has therefore influenced a broad spectrum of evangelical leaders. However, children and youth were not on Lausanne’s agenda as a missional target group and resource group until 2004. Children were subsequently integrated as a key theme in The Cape Town Commitment (2011), which led to the for-mation of two issue networks related to children. The Lausanne 4 process (2019-2025) highlighted youth and intergenerational collaboration, with discipling and mentoring as central themes. The resources from this process also include key papers on next generation as a missional “gap” and children’s full participation in missio Dei.
