Closing keynote speech at the 2022 Tiempo de Arte conference in Santander, Spain by the Slow Art Day core team. Phyl Terry (Founder of Slow Art Day, CEO of Collaborative Gain, Author, Keynotespeaker, Community Developer, and Harvard Business School Graduate), Johanna Bokedal (Associate Professor at NLA Høgskolen, Bergen, Norway), and Jessica Jane Nocella (Postdoctoral Fellow in Education and Human Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia).
The conference featured a focus on slow looking as a pedagogical practice, and focused on the role of slow looking in museums and art collecting. The conference took place in the Centro Botín: an arts centre designed by Pritzker Prize-winner architect Renzo Piano, in collaboration with Luis Vidal and Architects.
