The Current Spiritual Turn – In Light of Previous Christian Revivals
After discussing the English vocabulary concerning revivals, awakenings or renewals and how to translate the terms into Scandinavian languages, the lecture takes a closer look at distinctives in previous evangelical revivals. Further, the lecture investigates in theology of revivals and goes on to discuss how the contents of current movements relates to established revivalist theology. The conclusion emphasises the necessity of considering the cultural context in which a revival occurs. Special attention is given to the huge cultural shift that has changed the presuppositions for revivals in our secular part of the world.
