The Current Spiritual Turn - Social Reaction, Search for Experience, or Revival by the Spirit?
The given topic introduces the word “current”. However, in my opinion we need to go further back to come to terms with current trends. Thus, my first point is to look at trends over a few decades. Since the 1960s secularization theories have been dominant in our Western societies. The lecture does not go to any details about that. However, it reflects upon the depth of secularism in our cultures. Do we see a current cultural development that brings a radical turn of value dominion away from this? I’m not convinced on a larger scale that we do, even though we are happy to see a younger generation questioning answers from the secular agenda.
