The Sound of Children Learning Torah: Education in the Jewish Community of Oslo

This autoethnographic essay gives an account of the non-formal educational programs of the Jewish Community of Oslo, Norway, from an “insider/outsider” position. The essay further discusses challenges and opportunities regarding the transmission of Jewish traditions and Hebrew language to new generations, rein‍forcing Jewish identity in a diverse community within an orthodox framework.
